Seasoned food manufacturing industry professional joins Holmesterne

Shaun Bedford joins the senior management team at North Yorkshire based Holmesterne Foods as Head of Operations following a short period in the role of consultant to the company. A highly experienced food manufacturing professional, Shaun has worked in the permanent and interim market for over 30 years and has a proven record of achievement within the UK and overseas meat and food sectors.

Successful business transformation projects are his specialism and include all production operations, retail solutions, continuous Improvements, distribution, engineering, commercial growth and business development. Appointed for his skills as a change management leader his role will include the implementation of core values and strategic intent to create strong team working and company values.

Shaun is a driver of profitability, lean thinking and product and systems innovation; in the short time since he arrived he has already introduced automation to important manufacturing lines to speed up production processes and increase manufacturing output by 25%, at the same time reducing costs, increasing yields and inline efficiencies, along with cost engineering of current product lines to deliver better margins.

A transparent and clear management style that engages teams and improves work place culture and motivation characterise his daily approach to his role. A ‘people person’ Shaun will play a key part in strengthening and building both the engineering and technical teams to ensure the skills are in place to deliver the company’s ambition for long term strategy and growth.
